In regards to my Terengganu Series Story as part of my #Jomtaraletssupportlocal campaign in support to the Tourism of Terengganu, let me share to you my educational experiences to this Crystal Mosque or locally known as Masjid Kristal in Wan Man, Kuala Terengganu.
This Crystal Mosque is made out of steel, glass and crystals making it as one of the most iconic Mosque in Malaysia. This place is located in Islamic Heritage Park in the island of Wan Man in Terengganu. The mosque was constructed for about two years and it was officially inaugurated on 8 February 2008 by the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu.
This mosque is believed to be about $80 million which can accommodate about 1,500 worshippers at a time and was inspired from Moorish and Gothic architectural design elements. This mosque is modern type and is equipped with solar panel cells to support the electrical needs of its facilities such as wifi, lightings, and other amenities inside and outside the mosque.
The modern look of the mosque makes it outstanding among other mosque around South-east Asia or even around the world. This religious theme park houses replicas of other world famous Islamic structures such as the Taj Mahal and the Citadel of Aleppo. Accordingly, it is also said that the Crystal Mosque has added elements of Chinese architecture and design.
At night, the Mosque acts as the stage for a colourful display of lights, lighting up the mini-towers and domes in various colors such pink, green, yellow and blue. The sparkling reflection from the water added a mesmerising effect that helps makes the crystal building amazingly beautiful.
Before entering the Mosque, you need to clean yourself. The worship place for men and women are separated. You are required to wear robe when entering the mosque. They have available robes for you to wear.
You will also get amazed with their beautiful giant hanging crystal chandelier which perfectly blended to its carpeting and interior design.
A souvenir shop and small restaurants are available around the area so you will not be hungry while roaming around the place. You can rest at the park while enjoying the scenery around the , waterfront specially those jetties and cruise boats passing by.

How To Get Here?
If you are coming from other states, Terengganu can be reached by domestic flights or by land or sea transport. But if you are mainly coming from Kuala Lumpur, the recommended option for you is either through plane or express bus service.
That time, our group took express bus service which took about 6-7 hours (I think) to reach Kuala Terengganu. The journey was quite relaxing as the express bus we used was a double decker with an executive chair so it not that tiring althoughout the journey.
Upon reaching Kuala Terengganu bus station, the best option for you to take is taxi or grab car. It is very accessible as most of the drivers know about this spot.
If you are driving, don’t worry. You will not be lost. You can use any navigation app to locate this. The place has ample parking space along the waterfront, so parking would not be an issue for you.
