Based on the records of my current visa in Malaysia, I was given a visa based on the passport number from my old passport. And since my old passport was punctured by my embassy when I got my new passport, it is now considered invalid.
Hence, I went to the Immigration office at the Setia Tropika in Johor Bahru to process this matter.
On that day, I actually have two transactions. First is to renew my Spouse Visa or Multiple Entry Visa and the second one is to renew my Work Endorsement under the spouse visa programme.
The documents we had submitted were the following:
Borang IM. 12 document which will be provided by the Immigration office.
Borang IM. 38 which will be provided by the Immigration office stating the details of the applicant’s name and others Photocopy of my new passport data page.
Photocopy of my old passport Visa data page Photocopy (back and front) of my wife’s IC Passport photo with a blue background and should be in a collared shirt of the couple.
Photocopy of our marriage cert from my country since it is where we took our marriage (must be authenticated by the Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Malaysia).
Photocopy of our re-registered marriage indicating the license number of your marriage cert from my country.
Photocopy of my birth certificate duly authenticated by my embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya, Malaysia
During the process, there was not much interview, I just presented all my documents including the requirement for my Extension of Work permit with the same company.
Here are the requirements for my extension of Work Endorsement:
Borang IM 12 (document which will be provided by the Immigration office)Company offer letter.
Surat Pengesahan (from your company with an indication of your current position, salary, new passport number)Borang 9 (from the company).
SSM (Full and must be within the year of application).
Borang 24 (from the company)Supporting Documents: Drivers’ Licence ( Malaysia) and Company ID
I am so thankful that I was able to get my endorsement extension for two years within the same day. I don’t need to wait for weeks.
I just paid RM252 for two years (RM72 +Rm180= RM252):
(Multiple Entry Visa Fee ( RM 72) as each year is worth RM36
PLS Lanjutan for RM180 (each year is equivalent to RM90).
