In support to #supportlocal amid to the impact of Covid19 pandemic to the tourism industry, let me share to you our experience to Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort Desaru Coast. This is a 4 star hotel situated right in front of the beach coast of Desaru Coast.
THE JOURNEY:
We took Causeway Link Bus Service from JB Sentral to get to Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark. We took this bus with only RM15 per pax per one way. The bus is spacious and with good air-conditioning facilities.
AT THE ADVENTURE WATERPARK DESARU COAST:
We took the Adventure Waterpark in Desaru Coast for the whole day until 3PM. Then we checked out and took a taxi to get straight to Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort Desaru Coast. The rates of this Hotel is competitive (I would say).
THE HOTEL:
The Hotel provides outstanding services and amenities for its clients such as free Wi-Fi in all rooms, 24-hour security, convenience store, daily housekeeping, gift/souvenir shop, swimming pool (kids and adult), fitness center, volleyball court, and restaurant. They’re staff are also very accommodating. We checked-in at 3 PM and the process was very straight forward. Since we are quite tired during our waterpark adventure, we rested in their hospitality area. It's quite relaxing I would say.
We had a staycation to this hotel and its nice. I love the evening setting. It's very relaxing and their swimming pool is just facing their beach area which is very convenient (just a walking distance).
The hotel may look a bit run down but I think it was still maintained. The ambiance along the Coast is very relaxing. I don’t need to get to an expensive hotel just to experience the beach side. Although the waves are quite strong since its evening so just have some safety precautions on that area.
I love their seaview. Its nice to just go out at their balcony area and relax and hear the noise coming from the waves. It’s just like music in my ears that helps to relax my brain cells from the busy city life in Johor Bahru.
GOING BACK TO CITY CENTER:
After checking out at the hotel from the hotel the following day, we hang out at the beach area around 3PM cause the hotel said we can use the hotel until 3PM since they don’t have much customers on that day- They are quite flexible cause we have a kids with us. At 3PM we just went to their beach area and stand by at their hotel lobby for about 1 hour.
At around 4:30 pm, we went to their Public beach which cost us about RM18 taxi to get to the public beach. We spend around one hour and 30 minutes there before we head to the Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark to take the bus to JB Sentra.
The fare is also RM15 per pax which give us more saving in terms of transportation from JB Sentral to Desaru Coast.
The experience for me was 8 out of 10. I would admit the Desaru Coast is quite hot so you must be ready with a lot of extra drinks and sunblock.
