A Nice Gynaecologist in JB

This is the story of how I met this gynaecologist in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Kempas Medical Center, Johor Bahru (2016)

My Malaysian wife and I went back to Malaysia as we decided to stay in this country. My wife was in her 4th month of pregnancy and we were already in the process of processing our documents especially on my part as a foreign spouse.

As days went by, her pregnancy was progressing. So we looked for a good gynae to check on the baby’s condition. We went to different hospitals in Johor Bahru and meet various doctors that specialised in the field of gynaecology including their delivery rates.

And we met this gynae from Kempas Medical Centre, Dr Kevin, who from the start, talked about himself through documented positive testimonials from his previous patients.

At first, I was smiling and simply thought, what kind of gynae is this. But we decided to give him a try.

So on the seventh month of my wife’s pregnancy, we decided to visit him. We showed him our previous medical check-ups from the Philippines and even from other gynaes we had been to in Malaysia.

My family with our caring Gynea.

Based on my observation, he is an honest guy. He gives us a direct answer regarding the results of his findings based on my wife’s pregnancy development.

He is the type of a gynea that educates his patients about their wellness and health concerns. He maybe talkative, but he uttered words that are sensible and useful especially for first-time parent like us.

However, it was very disappointing that during the delivery, he was not around in the hospital. Although, he informed us earlier about his absence since he had a last minute emergency to attend to.

The delivery happened on a Saturday morning during the Agong’s birthday in Malaysia. We informed him about our situation via WhatsApp. Despite everything, he really monitored us as the phone in the delivery room kept ringing every 30 minutes and we didn’t know that it was him who kept on asking about the condition of my wife.

It was Midwife Elizabeth who mentioned that Dr Kevin was monitoring us. And that he was the one on the phone.

So on that day, we could not do anything. Another gynea by the name of Dr Too, did the delivery for my wife. Thank God it was a normal delivery. Straight after his trip from KL, Dr Kevin purposely went back to Kempas Medical Centre to check on my wife’s condition and the baby and gave us clearance to go home on Sunday morning.

From the perspective of a client, I can recommend his professionalism and ethical standards in his field of expertise. His good personality reflects on how we gave respect to him as our gynea.

And honestly, he is the only professional gynaecologist I know who calls his patients to monitor them in-terms of his obligations them.

He really loves babies.
